FAQs
What does it do?
Titan is a light-based treatment we use to tighten lax skin. The areas we most often treat include the cheeks, jaw line, under the chin, upper arms and the abdomen.
How does it work?
We use a sophisticated infrared light to gently heat the supportive tissue within the skin. This heating causes collagen contraction resulting in tighter skin.
How is your treatment different from Thermage?
Titan is less painful and less sensitive to variations in tissue because it uses a completely different mechanism for heating.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies according to the precise condition and responsiveness of your skin but it typically ranges from one to three treatments over a few months. At your consultation, we can discuss this in detail and recommend a treatment program that’s right for you.
How long does each treatment take?
The time will vary according to the size of area being treated. Most treatments take less than one hour.
What does it feel like?
You will feel a brief heating sensation of the skin with each Titan pulse. Patients are able to tolerate treatments without the use of any anesthesia, numbing creams, or medication.
What can I expect afterwards?
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling that goes away in a few hours. You can return to normal activities right away.
When will I see results?
You can notice some improvement right away and results continue to develop gradually over three to six months as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
Our patients are still enjoying the benefits of Titan after one to two years. The skin will continue to age though and they may opt for a yearly maintenance treatment.
Is it safe?
Yes. Tens of thousands of Titan treatments have been done to date. As with all medical procedures there is a slight degree of risk, and we will discuss this with you thoroughly when you come in for your consultation.
How much does it cost?
At your consultation, we can give you an idea as to the number of treatments and the specific price.
Can anyone have it done?
Patients of any skin type can be treated with Titan.
